Asalamu alaikum, everybody. Welcome to the VSL Sundays podcast. I'm your host today, um Atik or Atik or Atik. Um, last name Sayyid. And we have our two guests here, and maybe some more special guests. We'll see how the day goes as we are at a restaurant. But um, with us, IRL in person is Taimur Sheikh and Jab Ahmed. Ahmed now, Jab Taimur, Tamur, uh, say what's up, say what's up. What's going on, guys? Salamikum. Salm like uh Jab, so you say what's up now? Hey, Swalkham, everyone. Okay, big Jab. So before we get started, you know, we got a lot of stuff to talk about. You know, first the first week's done, man. We got the first two games for each team. Like, we kind of know some of the stuff, and everyone has kind of done some stuff, you know. So we got some standings, we got some stuff to talk about. But again, before we get started, I want to ask you guys, what have you guys been up to? You know, like how's your day been? How's your week been? You know, just want to get to know what's been up with you guys, you know?
SPEAKER_01Uh uh week's been good. I'm happy to be here. It was a really good long weekend, hot weather finally. But you know, we live in Canada, so we're back down, back down to where we should be, which is cold as heck. Yeah, but uh yeah, overall, good, humdul. Everything, everything's good on my end.
SPEAKER_03And Jab, what about you, man? What have you been up to?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, humdul uh nothing, just trying to get my body ready to go for the season. Um, we are currently sitting at a restaurant because we all join a Thursday league, which sometimes has a two-hour, 50-minute gap. Two and a half, two and a half hour gap. So between a restaurant and watching an indie movie, we decided to come to a restaurant. So we're here.
SPEAKER_03That is true. We are here. Um, shout out, should we shout them out? Shout out Oklahoma Burgers, I guess. Um, but eat some good food. But yeah, but let's get started with the standings, man. I kind of just take a look here. The teams with two who went two-0 were Ayubits and Mamluks, so they're at the top right now. And then we have uh Nustrid, Sultans, and Ottomans, all who went one one and one. Uh, and then the Abbases, Selyukes and the Mugles are at the bottom here. So looking at these standings, guys, I know like for for the most part, it's kind of what you'd expect, but is there any surprises uh from the first two games? I know it's not a lot of content to really take from, but is there any surprises looking at the standings for the first two games here?
SPEAKER_01Say more? Uh to be honest, um, not really. I think the first week is always a bit difficult to gauge. I think standings don't really don't really tell the whole picture. I mean, this this from like from observationally, like taking a look at the league, taking a look at the draft, uh, having been around sort of you know the first week and watching four games, this is like some of the deepest teams that I've seen in BSL Sundays for quite a long time. And so I think the standings in the first week are not going to be indicative of where these teams end up and uh perhaps even you know who the champion champion is going to be ultimately. So I think you know, honestly, this is one of the deeper, deeper seasons from a talent talent perspective.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, no, I like that. We do have a lot of new additions this year, man, and some big names out here, man. Some big names out. Little Sammy Khan, you know, we got some big names out here. Sami Khan, speaking of Sammy Khan, we got his GM here in the jab, man. What do you think about the first two games, man? What do you think about the standing so far?
SPEAKER_00I mean, like Tim were said, it's just we're just getting started. It's just um there's also been a break. So the first week has, you know, we've taken a break after that. So I don't even feel like the real season's really started until we really get into it to get to get to some continuous ball. But uh no, it's been a good start. Sammy uh yeah, took him kind of a uh based on rumors, and the kid's a stud. Stud shortstop, and uh very surprised with his batting. So mashallah, mashallah. I don't want to uh jinx him or anything and get put Nuzra on him, but I hope he can keep it going.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we're gonna find out, man. This year is we're gonna find out a lot of things this year again. Again, one of the most stacked uh Sunday softballs that we've had in a while. Now let's look at the batting stats here, man. We have a couple people that are still, you know, hitting for a thousand. I'm not gonna count from Zale though, because he only had two at bats. But looking at Saffron, he went nine for ten. And so did I think, yeah, Thor went eight for nine, and a couple more seven for eight. Like we have, and even oh wow, everyone IQ, IQ went nine for eleven. That's big numbers for the old man there. And again, not a lot of sample size, but can I just say something on that?
SPEAKER_01I think I think we are going to see, and this this might be a hot take or not, but I think we are going to see averages trickle up this year. I'm not sure if everyone's aware of the new sort of scoring rules, but um errors are going to be more scarce and hits are going to be more abundant given the rule change. Uh, I think that rule change was made so that it's easier to score. Um, but that's just uh, you know, a hot take, perhaps. You know, we're gonna see averages trickle up um more than we've seen them in the last couple of years. Um, you know, errors that used to be errors are now hits.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, so maybe for the listeners, Timor, can you tell us what that rule change is?
SPEAKER_01Uh so so essentially, uh let me just uh pull up Z's message here. But essentially, um unless the infielder, and I'll have to be kept honest here. Um where is this rule?
SPEAKER_03Sorry, you just pulling it up. Bear with us, folks, bear with us. This is uh you know uh an interesting boss that podcast today, IRL podcast, might be the first ever IRL podcast. We do have those special guests here as well.
SPEAKER_01So so this is a message directly from Z. We're trying to standardize what we consider an error. Here is what we have decided that will only be considered an error in the infield, only a bad throw that results in someone being safe will be an error. So something that's hard hit, something that's bobbled isn't going to be an error anymore. Um, and in the outfield, if the fielder is standing waiting for the ball. So literally, if the ball is like a lemon and they drop it, it'll be an error. But if they even have to move a little bit, then it's not an error. So I think these averages are going to creep up because of that change. I understand the change, it's to make scoring easier and more uniform and taking less uh judgment and discretion from the scorekeepers. Um, but it's just something to keep in mind.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, that's huge, that's huge. And I feel like that is a great point, man. Like with those less, you know, lots of lots of we had lots of errors last last year. I remember some of the some my hips were stolen from me, but uh right next to me also is here. He's a little special guest doc. You have anything to say about this? Salaam alaykum, nothing to say, nothing to say. Great words from the big big doc. He is a legend here, man. One of the greatest pitchers we have. And speaking of pitchers, let's see what from the first little week that we had. Let's see who had the best pitchers pitcher stats. Sufyan Khan leagues the leagues the league, leads the league. Sufyan Sheikh, sorry. Again, this is Riyadh telling me this information. Sufyan Sheikh leads the league with seven strikeouts. I can see that right here. And he is a rookie, apparently. Wow, that's a great, great little little number for you guys there. But we do have three pitchers right behind him with five strikeouts. Nirvana Latif. Oh man, Nirvana. Let me tell you guys, that voice is the OG, man. Some people call him Unk, but I call him Big Dog. Um, Umayer Jabbar and Hanan Opal are all right behind Sufian Shake with five strikeouts apiece. And Ish is right there as well. He has four.
SPEAKER_02So two strikeouts for career 200.
SPEAKER_03Who has two strikeouts for career 200? Me. Oh, wow. And Zia Big, Big Doc, needs two strikeouts for a career 200 strikeouts. That's huge. That's huge. But honestly, again, we don't have a lot of sample size with the stats. This uh, as currently, currently, right now, obviously. So we're gonna play a little bit of a game here, boys. We're gonna get a little a little bit of game going. Is that fine with you guys?
SPEAKER_00Uh depending on the game.
SPEAKER_03Well, too bad. I think we never know. Too bad. You're gonna have to answer these questions because you signed a contract, buddy. Um, okay. I'm gonna ask you guys first. We're gonna ask you guys I'm gonna I'm gonna give you guys I want I want you to guys to give me a because I don't know much about softball, right? So I want you to give me a cap or fact. Say something that you might have done in your softball careers in DSL or third or Thursdays that I wouldn't know about, and I'll tell you if it's cap or facts. Okay, so T, you go on first. Texas smoke or our food's here. Um that's not mean. Hey, Texas smokes smoke brisket. No, no, no. Anyone had a Texas smoke brisket? Yeah, Arcelan. Arcelan over there, yep. Sorry guys, might get a little a little interrupted here, but um back to what I was saying. So yeah, you go ahead. Give me a give me a give me a little softball steak there.
SPEAKER_01I've had an inside the park home run. Cap. 100% cap. It's true. It's true, is this real? Yeah, it's true. No way. First game, I had an inside the park home run. Oh, that's that's good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. That's true.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, oh wow, okay, Jab, you uh I was once a pitcher.
SPEAKER_00Starting pitcher next delegate that's kind of specific.
SPEAKER_03I'll say fact. Fact? Okay, okay, I'll do one. I'll do one. But you guys, I'll do from baseball because you guys don't know. I was also a starting pitcher, but in baseball, baseball. It is a fact. It was house league, it was house league, and it was so fact. BLT guys, BLT. BLT. Is that isn't that haram? Say it's harak. BLT is half. I'm not gonna judge Riyadh, but uh maybe it's a halal BLT. Ooh, what is that? That looks good. Let me just get one of those, yeah. Okay. Oh, that's too many. Oh, sorry, guys.
SPEAKER_00I like it.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, uh, let's do a little hot take wheel. Go on. I want to hear some of your guys' hot takes.
SPEAKER_03First off, can we make a list of all time chirpers in BSL? Or at least like I want to hear the top three. Yeah, top three chirpers. I want to shout them out here at BSL because chirpers are they're a big part of the game, man. Umere shake number one. Number one Umer Shake.
SPEAKER_02Umere shake. Really?
SPEAKER_03Anyone else? One on our team, maybe on Thursdays?
SPEAKER_01I haven't really played with him that much, but I guess like EVP chirps, but EBP chirps, but it's like self-chirp. I think he's just trying to hype up his yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03It's like self-chirp.
SPEAKER_01It's like probably anyone else, is there a third?
SPEAKER_00Back in the day, um, yeah. I mean, it's guys that love to talk. Like Ray Rayhan Hammond loves to talk, talks both ways from the team to the to the other side, but it's not really chirping, but it's not chirping, it's not trash talking, just like like like Ray's not gonna get under your skin. You know, I've seen Tamor get pretty uh chirpy. Wait, is it true, Tamor? There's been some incidents. We'll leave it at that. No comment. Better for it now.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, oh no. Well, you know what? It looks like that that area of the league is a little you know scarce, so I might have to step up my game. Step my game. Maybe you'll see me there. Okay, let's do we get do we have any softball hot takes? Do you guys have any like any hot takes at all?
SPEAKER_01Well, just to just to just to put it out there, just to put it out there, um Othig told us like 20 minutes before this that we're doing this without any context, without any preparation or prefacing. So um, I really don't have a hot take in the moment, but I'll be happy to respond to your hot take.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's a bald faced lie, first of all. So we planned this for actually months. Um uh so you know what? I'll do I'll do a hot take. Are you ready? Batting gloves are overrated. What are your thoughts on that? I think it's actually let me explain it first. Because when I first started in this league, I would go barehanded and just swing the bat, and I batted 640 with it. And I've been using batting gloves recently. My average is down in the it's in the it's in the dust. It's it's not good. It's in the it's in the dump. Sorry, yeah, it's terrible. So, what are your thoughts on that hot take?
SPEAKER_01I think it really just depends on the player. Because for me, the reason why I wear batting gloves, and I actually don't even wear batting gloves, I wear mechanics gloves, like heavy-duty like like work gloves from Canadian Tire. Oh god, and the reason for that is because my hands blister very fast and I have sweaty palms. Okay. So, like, I actually will like if I were to go up and swing a bat barehanded in the middle of the summer, um, like it's gonna go flying out of my bat. Like, I I I'm not gonna be able to grip the bat.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01So for me, like I think batting those make a ton of sense, but I think it just depends from person to person, right? Um we had pine tar, I guess that could help, but like, yeah, for me, like it's it's I don't think I don't think they're overrated. I think they're just depends on the player and they do have utility.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. I I I I see that that prospect. What about you, Jeff? Will you have any thoughts on that, hot take?
SPEAKER_00Uh, not really. I mean, Tamma pretty much covered it. I do think they're a functional piece of equipment. Um, there's there's a reason you can grip the bat a little bit tighter. You can maybe you know feel free to swing as hard as you can without the risk of letting it go. So I think everyone should wear batting gloves. Uh, I just can't explain your batting average. I don't think it's the batting gloves, it might be something else, but uh yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, my batting average is it's been interesting these past couple weeks, but we're gonna pick it up. It's in my head. Yeah, the mindset is just you know, the mindset is key, guys. Just so you guys know, a little advice for the youngins. Uh, don't get in your head. Because as Doc knows, I am in my head a lot recently. But you know what? Today we picked it up. Those last two at bats, we got hits, ended up two for four on the on the game. Let me see if there's any other hot takes though that we have here.
SPEAKER_00I have what I want to ask you guys. Okay, go I saw this number right now. So week one, a U-Bids. 65 hits in two games. And I don't even think they played nine innings, 65 hits.
SPEAKER_03Is that is that a real is that true?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, right on the website. So given that there's some more hits than there might have been last year, but does that continue? Is is this the hottest hitting team with the game? Zero chance, zero chance that continues.
SPEAKER_01Wow, big T with some big words, zero, and I don't even I don't even have to look at I don't have to look at the the stats for that, just the the the the name Iubits. Like I've been I've been on iU bits, man. Like there's no way they're keeping that up.
SPEAKER_03Oh wow, okay. Well there's some there's some big words for T.
SPEAKER_01Hold on, what do you mean? Hold on, hold on, Hamza. I love you, man. But like I just don't see it happening. Like Huston Shabir is sitting here. I think he's gonna have uh he's gonna have a solid rookie season, but I just I just don't see it happening. Like, you know, uh Imran Koreshi, he's he he's a great player, but he's not gonna go 9 and 11 every week.
SPEAKER_03Or like I Hey, shout out IQ, I love you and your sons, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know what I mean? Like it's just it's just it's just hard to fathom. I think I think it it's um likely likely uh outlier and to be frank, like a fluke that they had wow, wow five hints.
SPEAKER_00Big number.
SPEAKER_01Um, and I'd like to actually see like how many of those were actually like errors that were given hints. Like if you were if you were to if you were to like look at it from the perspective of would these be hits under the previous rules, right? I didn't watch the game, so I don't know, but um yeah, I I'd be hard pressed to see them hit have 65 hits again.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they also had 120 at bats, so I'm just looking at that now. So that's part of it, that's an insane amount of bats for one weekend or something.
SPEAKER_03So when the train's moving, it don't stop. Um take a little quick little pause. Riyadh, how's your food, man? Food is very good, thank you. Sounds good. He looked really good eating it, so I just want to double check with that. Um, okay, next little uh category that we have. Let's go to let's go to, let's go to do you guys know your teammates well yet or no?
SPEAKER_01Actually, we have uh we have a Mumluk's barbecue, which you didn't RSVP to yet.
SPEAKER_03So you want me to go to a barbecue with a bunch of old men with your teammates?
SPEAKER_01Old men. I mean it's your teammates, you want to come or not? Well, you know I do love free food. Come through. What days is it again? It's on uh Friday, June 5th. So actually, um our team is making a concerted effort to get to know each other. You know, we understand it's a long season. Um, as much as it's about the W's and L's and the stats, it's really also about you know building brotherhood and come camaraderie because ultimately, you know, like um that's that's that's the that's the uh what do you call it, the X factor sometimes in you know winning a championship and not right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, that is true. Camarodity is very key, you know. I love to have team chants, team talks, and all that. And a barbecue does sound good. Um, so I noticed though that you said you're holding a barbecue for your Sunday team. What about your Thursday team, buddy? We're literally having food right now. Yeah, well, it looks like you're picking favorites, but I'm not gonna say nothing. Um, okay. Uh let me see what we have here. We could do a quick little starch bench uh start bench cut. Start bench cut. Um, also, by the way, just a heads up to all the listeners. Once our food or once my food comes, I'm low key gonna have to cut this, you know, sure. But we're gonna try to hit the the 30-minute mark at least, boys. But yeah, let's play a little start bench cut. What? What are you laughing at? What's funny? Please, please tell me.
SPEAKER_01Uh continue, go on.
SPEAKER_03Okay, we can wrap this up. You're gonna be here forever. You're gonna be for however long, however long I want you to be here. Okay, start bench cut. I'm gonna give you three.
SPEAKER_01Can you put it?
SPEAKER_03Whoa! Hopefully you didn't pick that up. If you did, sorry, guys. That was that was jab. Um no, we're recording, don't worry. I double checked. Okay, start bench cut. Are you guys ready? I'm gonna give you softball scenarios and you're gonna tell me what you'd start, inch, and cut. Okay? Okay, lock off home run and win the game. That's one. Um Grand Slam. That's two. Um, but it's just a regular grand slam, like you're just in the game grand slam. Or I you you rob a home run. You rob a home run outfield, you jump in the air, you go over the fence, boom, rob a home run. Start bench cut. Tamo, go ahead.
SPEAKER_01I don't understand. Are you gonna tell me the players that I want to start bench or cut? No, brother. No, brother. That's the scenarios, and you tell me what you'd want. Like, what's your favorite start bench cut? So I would say uh home run, a walk-off home run to win the game. You're gonna start that 100%. I think that's number one. Okay. Uh number two, I think would be a great for me, would be a grand slam because I don't play outfield, and um I just don't think there's enough opportunities to like rob a home run. And like just hitting a home run is just so much more like you know, yeah, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Hey, what about you, Jeff? Startbench code, what are you doing? Oh um, let me just drop my phone there.
SPEAKER_00Ten more, but I'll change it up just for the podcast. Uh I'm gonna start the uh what was the third one? Robbing a home run. It's a play that's gonna amp up the team, get the you know, momentum going, and it's like a real big pick me upper. So I'm gonna start that. We're gonna bench the uh grand slam and we're gonna cut the walk-off. Wow. I know it's weird, but why are we in that position?
SPEAKER_03I guess that's big, that's big words from Jab. I'm gonna go with actually, I'm gonna start the walk-off home run just because that's I feel like the best feeling in baseball. You know, you walk it off, you get to celebrate with your teammates. Big home run, you get around the bases. I'm gonna start that, and I'm actually gonna bench robbing a home run because I don't think many people have ever done that. You know, it's a very unique thing, especially in DSL. So robbing a home run is I think would definitely be up there. So I'm gonna I'm gonna bench that in Grand Slam. Like, yeah, it's pretty cool, but I'm gonna have to cut it. I'm sorry. You know, I already got the walk-off home run. I don't really need a grand slam, so I'll keep that out. Okay, another another start bench card. Ready? Getting caught on base, just trying to see, like picked off and just trying to steal. So you just you made a mistake on the base path, and you just get caught and you just get picked off. Okay, striking out, looking okay, and missing a like easy pot fly right to you're right under it, and just like dropping it. Start bench cut. Say more. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_01I'm definitely not ever wanting to strike out looking. Okay, I'd rather strike out swinging. Okay, okay. So that is definitely cut. Oh wow. All right. Um, I think I'd uh probably want to just get picked off on the basis because I feel like I'm already slow, so I have an excuse. So you start that? I was like, oh guys, my bad. You should have pinched pinch rant for me, right? Um and I'd uh I'd bench the pop-up.
SPEAKER_00Okay, okay. What about you?
SPEAKER_03What about you, Jeff?
SPEAKER_00Um, I will start the pop-up. I mean, things happen, it sucks, but you know, get the next one. Um, I'm cutting the base running for me. It's an effort play, it's an IQ play. Sometimes you're not good, but yeah, effort. There's no excuse for not having effort. So I hate that. I don't know how you're running the bases, and the last one was uh the other one, the last strikeout. Yeah, that one sucks too, but uh, I guess we'll bench that.
SPEAKER_03Okay, okay, okay. I would actually I would cut strikeout looking, obviously, because I hate that. Um, and then I would actually bench the pop-up because I'm an outfielder and pop-up, like that's that's kindergarten. If you don't if you miss a pop-up, like wrap it up, you know. And I would start the base path just because, like, you know, me, I'm the base pass. You could ask uh Zaheed Merchant, uh, that one year in Medina, he threw his hat down for a reason. I'd just be running, you know? So so mistakes will happen, but for the most part, I'm out running the balls, so that's all that matters. Okay, we'll do one more start bench cut. Um, okay, ready?
SPEAKER_01This is the I'll be countering a minute.
SPEAKER_03This is the last start bench cut. Hey, hey, hey, hey, I'm gonna need y'all to calm it down a little bit over there. That's two one Montreal Canadians game two, by the way. This is when we're recording. Now they have the exact time, but when we're recording. Basically, okay. Last start bench cut. Ready? Getting scorched, hit right in the face with a softball. Boom. No mask. Right, no mask. Right in the face. Okay. Uh, someone swings a bat, let's go of the bat, it hits you. So flying bat to the to the leg. We'll say to the leg. Okay. So softball to the face, flying bat to the leg. And then the third one is just getting just getting tackled. Getting like ran through on the base pass, just getting straight. Mo. Like imagine big T running at you full speed, and just boom. Like NFL tackle. Okay. Start bench cut. Tamur, get it started. What do we got? What do we got for us? Um okay, Jav, get it started because Tamur's not locked in. Of course. Jay.
SPEAKER_00Let's let's cut the first one. A ball to the face, liner right to the face with a mask. Like you're talking about, like, you know, life and death almost. Yeah. Um, I'll take bench for getting run over by Tamur. And what was the other one?
SPEAKER_03Other one was a bat to the leg. Like someone swings and misses and just throws the bat at you.
SPEAKER_00If I had to choose one, that's probably the least damaging one.
SPEAKER_01So uh I'll choose getting run over by myself because we're in the same weight class. Okay, yeah, yeah. All right. You can't really run over T. Yeah. Uh I'll take uh I'll take uh I'll bench the bat to the leg, uh-huh, but I don't want to get hit in the face. Yeah, I've seen, I've seen, I've seen some I've seen some madness. I've seen Imran Murchy get hit in the face. Oh, damn. I've seen Osama Mahmoud get hit in the face. Osama bin who? Osama Mahmoud. Oh, sorry, sorry, must have misheard there. So yeah, no, I definitely wouldn't want that and I wouldn't wish that upon anybody.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, I think I'd do the same. Well, not with uh getting run over by Tay Moore, but I'll cut, I'll cut getting hit in the face. I'll bench getting tackled by Taymor Taymor, because that's gonna that's gonna hurt. I'm gonna feel that maybe for a week at least. And then the back to the leg, like maybe, maybe I'll like hit on my knee or some of my thigh, you know. Hopefully it'll bounce off. Like it's gonna hurt, but not as not as crazy as all that stuff. Because that is ridiculous. It is getting ridiculous. But okay, that was the last start to start bench cut. And now I'm gonna hit you guys with a little softball poem. Um, this is off the top of my head, so just bear with me, guys. Um just again, you guys can give your reviews after the poem, by the way. Okay, live reviews, you and you and Jav. Okay. It's a sunny, bright day in Drumkin Park. Drumquin park, and I'm out with my friends. Um and I'm sorry, let me restart. It's a sunny day in Drumquin Park. I'm playing with my friends, and I feel like I'm flying like Tony Stark. I'm wanting to catch the ball, but it fell out of my glove. I said, What's going on? As I looked up above, God looked down and said, I'm sorry, you've been a bad, bad boy. And softball is no game, and you are no toy. So I ran to the dugout crying with tears until Doc came up to me and filled my heart with fear. He said, Lock in, young gun. Enough is enough. If you don't get a hit next to that bat, you're done, and it's not a bluff. So I walked up to the plate and I stepped up with a grin. And I swung that bat as hard as I could, even though I'm slim. Oh, there's a kid next to me. What's up, kid? What's up? Oh, what was I say? Slim. The ball flew far, far, far and wide. And it went over the and it went over Doc. Why are you looking at me like that? And it went over the fence, and we all celebrated a wave like a tide. I ran the bases and I guys. Oh, Sonic and we're done. No, we're not done. We're not done. How many what time are we at? Sorry, guys. I promise you guys, if you let me like uh memorize a poem, the next podcast is gonna be fire. Oh, I think my food's coming. We're almost at the 30-minute mark. Um, four minutes left in this podcast. So, oh, it's not my food. Okay, lucky for you guys, we get more time. Um, okay, so we did a little poem. It'll be better next time, I promise. That's that's not nice. That's not nice. My average is not the wet the greatest. Okay, let's see if there's anything else that we could do here before we wrap it up. Um, let's see. Let's see, let's see, let's see. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. Okay, before we get to that, last question I want to ask for you guys. If we did walk-up songs, which I really, you know what, BSL, and even Thursdays, I guess, if they want to do stuff too, let's get the walk-up songs going.
SPEAKER_01So you weren't around for this um a couple years back. Ray brought his speakers out and he do a mix uh for the league.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, my food is here, guys. I'm so sorry. Just the burger, Doc. Is that you? Just the burger?
SPEAKER_01BMW BM double.
unknownSure.
SPEAKER_03Sure. You'll take it like is it yours? He didn't get fries, okay guys. Oh, there's my food. Oh no, that's not my food again. What's the plastic double? Plastic double. Oh, that's who's this? Oh, that's how okay. Sorry, that's what I was saying. So what were you saying with the speaker?
SPEAKER_01So Ray brought his speaker out and he used to um bump some tunes. And I think just given the given the um the the what buddy, the the league grounded in sort of Islamic principles, uh we wanted to keep it a Islamic environment. Uh and so uh I think the walk-up songs are a cool idea and it'd be it'd be fun. But out of respect for the league and uh you know, like the like the foundation of what the league was founded on, yeah. Um, I think the idea around the hull-cas is actually a better idea. So I have this single with fries. Oklahoma double? Oklahoma double with fries, yeah.
SPEAKER_03I have a single Oklahoma single. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So yeah, the so we just want to we do want to keep strong Islamic, you know, values here at BSL is what you're basically trying to say. Yeah, okay, Jav. I know you also agree with what he's saying, but I guess even though it won't happen, IRL, what is your dream or go-to walk-up song? Mine is Mark Henry's theme song from WWE. If you guys know that, somebody go and get they kicked. That's my that's my that's my go-to, I'd say. But Jav, what's your go-to walk-up song, man?
SPEAKER_00Um one song that gets everybody going, hypnotized, biggie, smalls can't go wrong.
SPEAKER_03Okay, what about you, Timor? Dream walk-up song. I'd go I'll put it on Punjabi song. Oh, dear God. Dear God. I know I was gonna I'm gonna ask everybody actually. For this question, we're gonna we're gonna pass around the whole table. Doc, dream walk-up song. I need it blank, blank by like the song? No, oh, just blank? Yes, just silence? Silence. Oh, silence is a walk-up song. What about you, Riyadh? Walk-up song. Dream walk-up song. My songs know what you did in the dark, fallout boy. Oh, oh, you know what? You know what be also a good song? Tribal Chief. Once to the sky. Yeah, if y'all know, y'all know Roman Reigns. Shout out Roman Reigns, man. Um, but yeah, other than that, guys, I'm gonna ask you guys just finally, who do you think is winning the championship this year? If you can't say your team, go ahead. And then we're gonna wrap this podcast up because again, my food is here.
SPEAKER_01I think if I were to pick a team that's not my team, I think the Mumluks are the favorites, but I'd say honestly, probably the Nustrids. Probably the Nustrids.
SPEAKER_03Nustrids, okay. Not bad shot. What about you, Jab? Can't say your team. Who do you think is winning the league?
SPEAKER_00It's uh it's a tough one, but you know what? No, the mumluks are deadly too. But you know what? What if the Sultans figure it out? They have a deadly lineup, a little bit uh older, but they can do it, man.
SPEAKER_03Riyadh said hell no. He's shaking his head, like no, that's not even happening. And honestly, screw my own rule. I'm gonna go with the Mamluks, man. We're winning it all this year. I believe in us. Me, Taimur, Big Ruza.
SPEAKER_00They're calling it repeat.
SPEAKER_03Big repeat, man. We're gonna figure it out, man. 2-0 the first week, and then we're gonna keep the momentum going. But without further ado, thank y'all for listening. We did hit the 30-minute mark, mashallah. That's crazy. It took 30 minutes to get our food then. Um shout out Oklahoma still, though. Really great food. Um, and yeah, just we're gonna sign it off. Thank you guys all for tuning in. Say more, thank you so much for being here, man.
